Overview Join the dedicated team of health professionals at MedStar Health and contribute to a health-centric community with your expertise in dietary and nutrition services. As a Dietitian Nutrition Services specialist, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop personalized nutrition plans, support patients through their health journeys, and promote wellness and preventive care through balanced diet practices. This role demands a combination of clinical knowledge, communication skills, and a deep understanding of nutritional science to ensure the optimal well-being of our patients. Responsibilities Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary‑care plans and provide nutritional counseling. Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to provide comprehensive nutrition interventions in accordance with patients' medical programs. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Educate and advise patients with diet-related disorders on the practical ways in which they can improve their health by adopting healthier eating habits. Create meal plans that are both economically feasible and scientifically effective for patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of meal plans and change them as needed. Promote health and wellness through public education on diet and nutrition. Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Expertise in dietary software and patient documentation systems. Up-to-date knowledge of dietetic principles, health regulations, and best practices. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region. Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), optional but preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
