Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 5x8 Days (06:45 - 15:15) Monday through Friday with occasional late days.

Job Description: The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care in the diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization labs. This role includes assisting with various procedures, monitoring patients, and administering medications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac care and be ready to handle both routine and critical situations in the lab.

Responsibilities:

• Perform cardiac procedures including stent placements and catheterizations.
• Monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation and take appropriate action if complications arise.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment and technologies within the cath lab setting.
• Administer emergency medications and IV therapy as required.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Adhere to infection prevention protocols and safety guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in a cardiac catheterization lab.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Experience with procedures such as IABP placement, left and right heart catheterization, and percutaneous coronary interventions preferred.
• Proficient in 12 Lead EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
