Job Description
The Registered Nurse will provide care in a 60-bed Medical-Surgical unit featuring remote telemetry and a variety of specialized medical equipment. The unit is supported by 50 staff members, including RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, and performing various medical procedures as needed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vitals and conditions using telemetry and capnography.
- Administer medications and IV therapy with Alaris IV pumps.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis.
- Provide post-operative care for various surgeries including gastric sleeves and orthopedic repairs.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the Alterra EMR system.
Required Experience
- Telemetry experience and Medical-Surgical nursing experience are mandatory.
- Strong time management skills.
Certifications/Licensure
- ACLS certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- Nursing license applicable to Texas.
