We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a high-tech engineering organization in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This contract opportunity is ideal for an accounting specialist who is comfortable working in a corporate environment and supporting essential financial operations in a hybrid setting. The position focuses on accounts payable, journal entries, general ledger activity, and month-end close, with the potential to transition into a long-term role.

Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting transactions and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain the accuracy of accounting records.
• Assist with month-end close by compiling supporting documentation, completing account analyses, and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice, coding, and payment issues in a structured corporate environment.
• Maintain organized financial records and support compliance with company accounting policies and standard procedures.• Experience in staff accounting or accounts payable within a business environment that values attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, and month-end close processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills in handling financial transactions and discrepancies.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel for reporting and account analysis.
• Comfortable working in a hybrid schedule and adapting to a structured corporate setting.
