Tool Room Machinist

Overview Works in Tool Room assisting in machining of parts from blueprint/sketch, works with tooling as required in teardown, repair, and assembly. This position is temporarily located in Largo but will move to Zephyrhills in the near future. Applicants must be able to work in both locations until the move. What You Will Do Machining of new parts and repair of used parts to original specifications. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Maintain die maintenance records as required. Attend work during the regularly scheduled shift, including availability for overtime and punctuality. Qualifications High School/GED required. National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) required. 5+ years of experience in machining; stamping dies experience required. Knowledge of all machine tools and measuring instruments. Journeyman Machinist upon hire preferred. Soft Skills Basic knowledge of tooling nomenclature. Ability to use equipment and apply measuring skills. Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Strong attention to detail. Physical Demands This is a physical position requiring the ability to stand, walk, carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs, and crouch.
