Chemical Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations/Production Manager to lead and optimize production operations across multiple units in a specialty chemical manufacturing facility. This key leadership role is responsible for driving production performance, product quality, operational efficiency, and full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while developing and mentoring the production team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day production operations to consistently meet or exceed targets for output, yield, quality, and efficiency.
- Provide strong leadership and technical direction to a team of 10-30 personnel, including Operations, Maintenance, and E&I staff.
- Monitor and optimize production KPIs, including yield, productivity, and cost performance.
- Develop and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch sheets, and work instructions.
- Manage the plant operations and maintenance budget to control costs and maximize efficiency.
- Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives, including CAPA processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot complex chemical process issues and resolve production deviations effectively.
- Oversee in-plant inventory management to ensure material availability and minimize waste.
- Ensure full compliance with all Environmental (air, water, waste) and OSHA regulations across production units.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, preventive maintenance execution, and employee training & development.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) with 8+ years of progressive experience as a Production Engineer or Production Manager in chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper, or other PSM-covered manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience in batch chemical manufacturing, including cycle time optimization and equipment capacity planning.
- Strong working knowledge and proven compliance record with Environmental regulations, OSHA, PSM, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Solid understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) principles and applications.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available).
