Dental Hygienist
Employment Type: Full-Time. Flexible on days/hours. No weekends.
Location: Marion, Ohio
We are seeking a licensed Dental Hygienist to join a collaborative, patient-centered community health organization. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic dental care while developing individualized dental care plans under the supervision of a qualified dentist.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess dental condition and patient needs through screening procedures
- Review medical history and perform dental and periodontal charting
- Take vital signs as required
- Deliver direct patient care using established dental hygiene protocols
- Perform routine preventive and therapeutic treatment procedures
- Develop and implement individualized dental care plans
- Document dental history and treatment in the EHR
- Provide patient and family education on oral hygiene and preventive care
- Participate in discharge planning and patient teaching
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes
- Perform triage and initiate care for walk-in patients as appropriate
- Prepare and maintain patient care areas and dental equipment
- Assist with or initiate emergency measures during adverse developments
- Independently perform emergency dental procedures within scope
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene
- Strong knowledge of dental outpatient regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to independently assess dental and periodontal conditions
- Proficiency in patient screening, charting, and documentation
- Ability to formulate therapeutic treatment plans based on prescribed protocols
- Skilled in performing a full range of dental hygiene procedures
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients
- Knowledge of dental surgery procedures, terminology, and instrumentation
- Ability to set up and maintain equipment in accordance with regulations
