Logistics Coordinator

Logistics Coordinator Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a knack for keeping things running smoothly? We are a well-established and growing company in Columbus seeking a talented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in coordinating the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal inventory management. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, working closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork (if applicable).
- Track shipments and proactively address any potential delays or issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in inventory control activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., sales, production, warehouse) and external partners.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements with transportation providers.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Resolve transportation-related issues and claims promptly and efficiently.
- Generate reports and analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for optimization.
- Proven experience in a logistics coordination or similar role.
- Strong understanding of transportation and warehousing principles.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel in particular).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
