Senior Python Engineer

The Senior Python Engineer role is part of our focused Software Engineering Team. You will be working with the latest tools and technologies and build full stack web applications. These key strategic applications make a meaningful impact to the business. The role calls for independent thinkers, unafraid to push the envelope, explore out of the box thinking and use the latest software development framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and development of web-based internet and intranet applications
• Analyze and troubleshoot problems in web-based software application
• Build interfaces using REST/SOAP API with third party applications
• Design and develop new user interfaces for applications
• Build database models for applications
• Create business workflows using commercial software
• Perform testing, QC and monitoring of applications
• Prepare user and system manuals

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field such as MIS
• Master's degree in a related field a plus
• 5-8 years of software engineering experience
• Industry experience preferred
• Professional programming certifications a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:

Client/Server Applications

• Python
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Apache Spark, Apache Airflow
• Databases – extensive experience working with MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle 11g and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB
• HTML5/CSS3/jQuery - Expert level jQuery/HTML5/CSS development will be necessary. Knowledge of bootstrap, require.js, SCSS a plus
• REST API/JSON design patterns
• Object Oriented Development - Ideal candidates should understand object oriented development, and apply OO concepts
• Deployment tools – ant, Junit, Jenkins

Ideal candidate must have deep experience and knowledge in:

• AWS services
• Front-end UI design using React framework
• Application development using SQL/NoSQL databases
• Object-Oriented Design (OOD)

Ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

• Excellent organization skills, ability to diagnose problems
• Self-starter; candidate who can jump in quickly without a lot of direction
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be energetic, able to clearly communicate ideas
• Willing to be on call 24 x 7 for support as needed
