Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) in a vibrant school setting near Waterbury, CT. This full-time, 35-hour-per-week position spans from August 24th to December 22nd, providing a meaningful chance to help students communicate with confidence and thrive academically and socially.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a diverse caseload of middle school learners, collaborating with educators and families to make genuine, lasting impacts. Your clinical expertise will ensure every student receives the communication support they need to excel.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
  • Previous experience supporting middle school-aged students in a school environment
  • Strong knowledge of administering and interpreting formal speech/language and eligibility assessments
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing documentation and best practices

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer and interpret standardized assessments to determine special education eligibility
  • Observe classroom dynamics and analyze how communication affects social and academic participation
  • Develop and implement individualized measurable goals for each student
  • Deliver targeted direct instruction to address speech, language, and pragmatic challenges
  • Train students in the effective use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
  • Provide classroom-based support to facilitate carryover of communication strategies
  • Meet with families, sharing resources and strategies to reinforce skills at home
  • Accurately document therapy sessions in compliance with Medicaid requirements
