CNA I - Intensive Care Unit Night Shift

Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I in the Intensive Care Unit, working full-time night shifts. This role involves providing essential patient care, observing and reporting changes in patient conditions, and maintaining a clean and well-stocked patient environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to the unit and equipment.
Respond promptly to patient needs, either directly or by notifying appropriate staff.
Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
Manage medication and supply retrieval for patient care.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient care area.
Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.

Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience and Skills:

No prior experience required; training provided.
Strong guest relations and communication skills.
Ability to read and write English effectively.
Flexibility with work tasks and schedules.
Basic computer proficiency.
Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work variable shifts, including nights.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and patient turning.
Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate precautions.
