We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise metal and material components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming and CAD/CAM software, and a keen eye for quality control. - Set up CNC laser cutting machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and verifying machine parameters according to job specifications.
- Program CNC laser equipment using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to ensure accurate cuts.
- Operate CNC laser machines safely and efficiently, monitoring the process to maintain optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications for precise fabrication.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC laser equipment to minimize downtime.
- Measure finished parts with precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team on materials handling, tooling setup, and assembly line integration.
- Maintain detailed production records, quality documentation, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements and participating in training sessions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages and software such as CAD, CAM, Fanuc controls, or similar systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including press brake machines, stamping presses, CNC mills, lathes, and welding tools.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings with GD&T specifications.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), tooling setup, and materials handling procedures.
- Experience with quality control tools such as calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining processes.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to factory operations including forklift operation and warehouse safety practices.
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience is preferred; familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is a plus.
