Mortgage Loan Originator

Base + Commission or Full Commission (Flexible Compensation Structure) We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to join a growing community bank in Gulf Shores, Alabama. This is a highly relationship-driven role ideal for a motivated mortgage professional who enjoys networking, developing referral sources, and helping customers achieve homeownership goals. The successful candidate will spend significant time outside the office building relationships with Realtors, builders, and homebuyers while originating residential mortgage loans and guiding borrowers through the lending process from application to closing. What You'll Do Originate residential mortgage loans in compliance with all federal and state regulations. Advise borrowers on mortgage products and recommend solutions based on their financial goals. Complete loan applications and collect required income, asset, and credit documentation. Maintain communication with borrowers throughout the loan process to ensure a smooth customer experience. Coordinate with processing, underwriting, and secondary market partners to facilitate loan approvals and closings. Develop and maintain relationships with Realtors, builders, and referral partners to generate new business. Participate in community events and networking opportunities to promote the bank's mortgage services. Cross-sell bank products and services, including consumer banking, insurance, and business banking solutions. Assist with consumer lending activities when needed. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of mortgage lending or mortgage origination experience. Active NMLS license or ability to obtain one. Strong sales, relationship-building, and business development skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Retail or consumer banking experience. Experience with Fiserv Precision or Fiserv Premier. Established relationships with local Realtors, builders, and referral partners. Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and other residential mortgage products. Why Join Us?
