Position Purpose
The Service Supervisor is responsible for leading front-end operations and ensuring exceptional customer service throughout the store. This position supervises cashiers, courtesy clerks, service desk associates, and other front-end team members while supporting efficient checkout operations, cash accountability, labor productivity, and customer satisfaction. The Service Supervisor promotes a positive customer experience while maintaining compliance with company policies and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities Front-End Operations

• Supervise daily front-end operations to ensure efficient customer service and checkout performance.
• Coordinate associate coverage and workflow to maintain service standards.
• Monitor checkout lanes, self-checkout areas, service desks, and customer service functions.
• Ensure opening, closing, and shift transition procedures are completed accurately.
• Assist store leadership in maintaining operational readiness throughout the day.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, and support front-end associates.
• Train new associates on customer service expectations, store procedures, and operational standards.
• Monitor associate performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a customer-first culture.
• Support associate engagement and retention initiatives.

Customer Service

• Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
• Resolve customer complaints, concerns, and service issues promptly and professionally.
• Assist customers with returns, exchanges, price checks, and other service requests.
• Monitor service levels and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Promote a welcoming and customer-focused environment.

Cash Handling & Financial Controls

• Ensure accurate cash handling and register accountability procedures.
• Monitor cash shortages, overages, and operational discrepancies.
• Assist with cash office functions and daily balancing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with cash management and loss prevention policies.
• Support investigations and resolution of transaction concerns.

Operations & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Support execution of promotional programs, customer service initiatives, and company programs.
• Maintain front-end cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness.
• Assist with operational audits and corrective action plans.
• Monitor adherence to workplace safety practices and procedures.

Labor & Productivity

• Support efficient labor utilization and associate deployment.
• Monitor service levels and adjust staffing assignments as business needs change.
• Track productivity and operational performance metrics.
• Support scheduling needs and labor management objectives.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements.
