Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for Labor and Delivery patients
• Perform OB triage and circulate for C-sections independently
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting fetal monitoring strips
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs, utilizing healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures
• Participate in patient and family education, assessing readiness to learn and applying appropriate teaching materials relevant to the OB patient population

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in a fast-paced Labor and Delivery environment
