Capital Habeas Attorney - Federal Defender Unit

The Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Central District of California is seeking full-time attorneys for its Capital Habeas Unit in Los Angeles. The CHU handles federal habeas proceedings for death-sentenced petitioners and related noncapital matters, with varied hours including nights and weekends. Applicants must have a law degree, CA Bar membership or willingness to sit for the CA Bar, and prefer 3+ years in criminal or habeas litigation or related clerkships.
