Daily Revenue ClerkThe Daily Revenue Clerk under the direction of the Resort Operations Controller is responsible for processing the Resort's revenue audit on a nightly basis. Additionally, this position is accountable for recording and maintaining the daily transactions incurred by the various resort departments, recording and distributing the daily statistics to appropriate departments and/or key employees as directed, and assists the Accounting team as needed.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Retrieve daily postings from all staff personnel that have entered financial transactions throughout the dayBalance and record all posting transactions made in each of the following Resort areas – Spa Grand Traverse, Golf Operations, Retail Operations, Food & Beverage Outlets, Accounting Offices, Membership and Group Billing, Audio/Visual OperationsClose any open outlet tickets and run registerProcess, record and submit for payment all credit card transactionsPost room tax and any additional fees to all occupied rooms on a nightly basisRecord all cash, check gift card, gift certificate and credit card transactionPull daily and month end reports to balance and clear data for gift cards, gift certificates, and casino vouchersEnsure accuracy of all final numbers and details imported to the master sheet for accounting leadership reviewCross train in other areas of accounting to assist co-workers if neededMaintain record of Accounting deadlines and monitor their completionAssist in the completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports used by Resort departmentsTo provide strong support in day to day operations of the Accounting DepartmentMaintain a good rapport with fellow employees and reflect a positive attitudeComplete all assignments requested of youMust follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee HandbookMaintain open line of communication with supervisorMust understand and abide by environmental practices of the resortOther duties as assignedEducation/experience:Highschool diploma or GED requiredPrior accounting office experience preferredCollege courses in accounting or related fields helpfulStrong computer skills in Excel and WordCalculator skills a mustOther skills and abilities:Must have proper listening skillsMust have strong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to maintain patience and professional attitude when dealing with issues that may ariseMust have the ability to comfortably handle confrontationMust have ability to manage, maintain and hold private highly confidential informationMust be able to work independently and have exceptional problem-solving skillsMust possess strong time management skills with little supervisionMust have the ability to multitask and work well under pressureMust possess the ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutionsMust possess excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal; communicating information and ideas in speaking so that others will understandMust be motivated with a positive attitude and perform effectively under high pressure/volumeMust have the ability to comprehend and follow directionsMust have the ability to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines; last-minute requests and changes will occur at any timeMust have the ability to maintain eye contact and engage with internal and external guests in a courteous and professional mannerTypical physical demands:Must be able to sit for long periods of timeMust be capable of lifting or moving documentation boxes weighing up to 25 lbsMust be capable of working evening shifts.Must be capable of working long hours at times when business operations demand itWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.Typical mental demands:There are deadlines that must be met.
