Computational Fluid Dynamicist

Computational Fluid Dynamicist – NASA Langley, VA (CHARGE) Responsibilities Perform three‑dimensional numerical simulations of internal and external flows with multi‑species finite‑rate chemistry and accompanying grid generation. Develop engine and vehicle designs, determine performance and operability for ramjet/scramjet propulsion programs using cycle to Navier‑Stokes codes. Qualifications MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. 2–5 years of work experience in computational fluid dynamics. Experience with commercial or government grid generation packages (e.g., Pointwise, Heldenmesh) and flow solvers (VULCAN, Loci/CHEM, FUN3D, USM3D, OVERFLOW, CFD++). Experience with data visualization software such as TECPLOT. Background with CAD software and interpretation of high‑speed wind‑tunnel testing is preferred.
