Project Teacher

Position Title: Project Teacher Employment Type: Non-Exempt (Part Time) Hours per Week: 25 Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Salary: $33 – $34 per hour Division: Student Success Office Department: Disability Support Services Summary Project Access is a college preparatory program located at HCC. We strive to support high school students with disabilities, who will be receiving a high school diploma, make a successful transition to college during a 4 week summer program. Responsibilities Provide students with opportunities to engage in academic and nonacademic activities, focusing on college preparatory skills and strategies, executive functioning, advocacy, and academic skills. Develop the specified class by identifying goals/objectives, creating supportive lessons and activities, utilizing a web-based management system such as Canvas, and establishing individual classroom expectations. Instruct daily classes and participate in weekly college trips. Participate in additional activities to support the summer program throughout the year such as fall and winter parties, Open House events, planning and training events, etc. Qualifications Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree Experience instructing students with disabilities and classroom management skills. Accredited or certified educator, or verified experience in a college environment. Pre‑employment criminal background investigation is a condition of employment.
