- Conducting thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and creating personalized treatment plans
- Diagnosing and treating acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses, collaborating with physicians or working independently based on your credentials
- Informing patients and families about prevention, wellness, and effective disease management strategies
- Prescribing medications and treatments within your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-ups and managing chronic care
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, cohesive care
- Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or similar certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to secure them within 90 days)
- Strong clinical judgment combined with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Outstanding communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
- Flexibility and adaptability in fast-paced, patient-focused environments
- Familiarity with EMR systems and proficiency in telehealth technologies
