About the Role

The Company is in search of a General Counsel to serve as its principal in-house legal advisor and strategic partner to executive leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical, business-oriented legal advice across a wide range of activities, including mortgage lending, corporate, transactional, employment, litigation, regulatory, technology, privacy, and operational matters. This role requires a deep understanding of federal and state mortgage lending and consumer financial services laws and regulations, as well as the ability to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company's business initiatives. The General Counsel will also be involved in managing the company's relationships with outside legal counsel and ensuring the protection of the company's legal interests. Key responsibilities for the General Counsel at the company include serving as the primary internal legal resource, advising on legal and compliance matters, and overseeing the company's legal function. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements, managing litigation and disputes, and providing legal guidance on regulatory and governmental matters.
