Job Title Clinical Psychologist (PsyD, PhD) Department Medical Staff Job Summary The Clinical Psychologist is a member of the healthcare team who works in collaboration with other staff to provide comprehensive psychological services to patients through assessment. The role of this provider is to, under the general supervision of the medical director or other physician, assess, maintain, and improve the individual and collective health status of individuals with alcohol and substance use disorders. Age/Patient Population Served Age of Patient Population Served: Adult (18 & older) Population Served: Persons with alcohol or substance abuse disorders with or without co‑occurring psychiatric illness Expectations of All Employees Adheres to all UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER Policies and Procedures Conducts self in a manner that represents UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER values at all times Maintains a positive and respectful attitude with all work‑related contacts Communicates regularly with supervisor about departmental and UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER concerns Consistently reports to work on time, prepared to perform the duties of the position Meets productivity standards and performs duties as workload necessitates Essential Duties and Responsibilities Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, quality improvement and change management techniques, accreditation and regulatory standards, ability to assess clinical care requirements based on medical, basic psychotherapeutic, and human development principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards. Obtain medical histories; renders admitting diagnoses through assessment processes. Conducts psychological assessments such as the MMPI and assess for ADHD. Complete medical progress note after encounter with client. Prepare psychological evaluation for the professionals program. Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely medical records about each patient, including observations during examinations. Comply with all laws applicable to internal medicine, including HIPAA Participate in staff outreach and off‑site health care programs in the UPRISING ADDICTION CENTER service area as assigned by the Medical Director. Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested. Minimum Job Requirements Education, Training, and Experience Required: Education: Doctorate Degree is required. Experience: 3 years work experience is preferred. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) LSBEP License ACLS or Advanced Life Support within 12 months of employment, if appropriate Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of industry standards: organization, theory, principles, and research processes, quality improvement and change management techniques, financial analysis, budget process and planning, accreditation and regulatory standards, strategic planning principles, ability to assess nursing care requirements based on nursing principles, scope of practice, and regulatory standards. Knowledge of medications, indications, dosage ranges, side effects, and potential toxicity. Knowledge of PC software programs, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Accurately and timely enters clinical documentation using electronic medical records (EMR) software. Written and oral communication skills; must be able to concentrate on work amid distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic. Must maintain self‑control in volatile or hostile situations such as when verbally or physically confronted in an aggressive manner. Must be able to work independently with little supervision in an unstructured environment with multiple demands. Reading and writing level that can clearly express or understand complex concepts, assessments, directions and processes or sequences of events. Ability to represent the program well in interactions both inside and outside the facility. Working knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and dual diagnosis clients. The employee/provider must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The job requires frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning) and working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals. When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed at all times. While performing the duties of this job, the employee/provider must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
