We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our Maryland-approved nonpublic school serving students with diverse and intensive learning needs. Position Summary

The Special Education Teacher provides high-quality, individualized instruction to students with disabilities in a structured, supportive nonpublic school environment. This role ensures instruction aligns with IEP goals, Maryland College and Career Ready Standards, COMAR regulations, and MSDE nonpublic school requirements . Teachers collaborate closely with clinical, behavioral, and academic teams to create safe, engaging classrooms where students can thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.
What You'll Do

• Deliver differentiated instruction aligned to IEP goals and state standards
• Design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to diverse learners
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies
• Apply and support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and schoolwide behavior systems
• Maintain accurate academic, behavioral, and compliance documentation (MSDE/COMAR)
• Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to guide instruction
• Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Collaborate closely with clinical, behavioral, and educational staff
• Communicate effectively with families, LEAs, and internal teams
• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
• Engage in professional development and apply evidence-based best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education required; Master's degree preferred
• Valid Maryland Educator License in Special Education
• Knowledge of IDEA, COMAR, and MSDE nonpublic school expectations
• Experience working with students with emotional disabilities, autism, or intensive needs preferred

Salary range of 60- 70 K commensurate with experience and active MSDE license.
