Investment & Portfolio Construction Analyst - Wealth Management

We are working with a well-established wealth management firm in Parsippany that has more than $500 million in assets under management and continues to grow.

About the Role

They are looking for an experienced investment and financial planning professional who can step into a broad, hands-on role. This person will be involved in investment research, portfolio construction, financial planning, client meeting preparation, and oversight of the day-to-day work being handled by the team. The environment is small and close-knit, so personality fit is important. They want someone who is sharp, dependable, willing to jump in where needed, and comfortable working without a lot of ego or hierarchy.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate mutual funds, ETFs, investment managers, and portfolio strategies
• Review performance across different market cycles, including risk, return, downside protection, fees, and tax impact
• Build and maintain investment models and portfolio allocations
• Prepare financial plans covering retirement, tax, estate, insurance, cash flow, and investment planning
• Gather client information and prepare materials for advisor and client meetings
• Handle follow-up items, update the CRM, and help make sure recommendations are carried through
• Review work completed by other team members and help keep processes moving
• Explain investment and planning concepts clearly to advisors, clients, and internal staff

Qualifications

• 7 to 10+ years of experience within an RIA, wealth management, private wealth, or financial planning firm

Required Skills

• Strong investment analysis and portfolio construction experience
• Someone who knows how to look beyond historical returns and evaluate investments based on risk, volatility, downside performance, and overall portfolio fit
• Experience preparing comprehensive financial plans and supporting high-net-worth clients
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• A detail-oriented, organized approach with the ability to manage several priorities at once
• A team-first attitude and willingness to handle both higher-level analysis and day-to-day responsibilities

Preferred Skills

• CFP, CFA, CPA, CIMA, CPWA, or a similar designation is preferred

Candidates coming from an institutional investment background may be considered, but they need to have direct experience working with advisors, financial planners, or high-net-worth clients.
