Job Role and Responsibility AMD, Inc. is hiring a PMTS Silicon Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductors and related devices, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Responsibilities include leading definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development; determining architecture and logic design; defining module interfaces for simulation, silicon correlation, and delivering systematic improvement; driving PPA improvements in both pre‑silicon and post‑silicon design phases and design practices to improve boost frequency for GFXIP; leading the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits; evaluating and making technical decisions regarding all aspects of the process flow from high‑level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use; serving as a technical leader across project or departmental boundaries to develop ASIC/layout design; driving projects or processes of significant technical importance; exercising wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments; and utilizing expertise in computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to develop resolutions to critical issues and broad design matters. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products, and apply experience in ASIC physical design. Travel NO Qualifications Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
