About Us:

The Alexander Review is an emerging literary publication dedicated to showcasing diverse voices, creative perspectives, and thoughtful discourse.

We are a volunteer-driven, remote team working across different time zones to publish curated issues, support writers, and expand our reach within the literary and creative space.

Responsibilities:

• Support recruitment efforts, including outreach, application screening, and candidate communication (e.g., via Idealist and other platforms).
• Assist with onboarding processes to ensure new members are properly introduced and prepared.
• Coordinate with different departments to support role placement and team needs.
• Help develop and improve HR workflows, systems, and internal processes.
• Maintain organized communication across teams, including through Slack.
• Contribute to building a positive, structured, and efficient team environment.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, reliable, and able to follow through on tasks.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Willingness to take initiative and solve problems proactively.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Interest in HR, operations, or organizational development.
• Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Microsoft applications.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Notion, Handshake, or Idealist is a plus, but not required.

Additional Details:

This is a volunteer role , requiring approximately 5–7 hours per week. Fully remote, with a flexible schedule and occasional Zoom/Slack check-ins. A minimum 3-month commitment is preferred. Volunteers gain valuable HR and leadership experience while helping shape the culture of a growing literary business.
