Registered Nurse - CVICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse for a Mixed ICU role with primary focus on CVICU, supporting complex cardiac patients and managing overflow admissions as needed. Provides high-acuity nursing care through the full patient care process in alignment with ICU standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document vital signs, hemodynamics, and patient responses to interventions.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy in accordance with unit protocols and provider orders.
• Provide specialized cardiac/CVICU nursing care, including ongoing telemetry-related surveillance when applicable.
• Perform comprehensive nursing care planning and update goals based on patient status and clinical progress.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, escalation, and discharge readiness.
• Maintain infection prevention practices and ensure safe patient handling and documentation.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license (Maryland or a compact/multi-state license with authorization required at submission).
• Possess 2+ years of ICU experience, with demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Maintain current ACLS certification.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Complete required facility onboarding modules and training as assigned for ICU/telemetry environments.
• Demonstrate readiness to accept fresh or cardiac patients and safely support overflow assignments.
