Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one private duty nursing care for a 9-year-old pediatric patient in Howey-in-the-Hills.

This is a great opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working with pediatric patients and is comfortable providing hands-on care in the home and community.

L.G – 9-year-old girl

LPN – Pediatric Private Duty Nursing

• Pediatric patient
• Quadriplegic and wheelchair dependent
• G-tube
• Uses a Hoyer lift for transfers
• Attends school Tuesdays and Thursdays with a nurse
• Nurse may accompany patient to doctor appointments on Wednesdays
• Experience with Hoyer lifts and G-tube care preferred
• Training can be provided if needed
• Seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable nurse
• Consistent attendance and punctuality are important

What You'll Do

As an Aveanna LPN, you’ll provide skilled nursing care in the patient’s home, school, and community while working closely with the patient, family, and clinical team.

Responsibilities may include:

• Providing skilled private duty nursing care
• Providing G-tube care and following the established plan of care
• Assisting with transfers using a Hoyer lift
• Accompanying the patient to school as scheduled
• Accompanying the patient to physician appointments when scheduled
• Monitoring the patient and reporting changes in condition
• Administering medications and treatments as ordered
• Completing accurate electronic documentation
• Supporting the patient’s comfort, safety, and daily needs
• Communicating effectively with the family and clinical team

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain an active, unencumbered LPN license in the state in which the clinician will practice
• Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
• Current CPR certification with hands-on component
• Aveanna can assist with obtaining this requirement after hire, if necessary
• Current TB skin test within the last 12 months
• Pediatric nursing experience preferred
• G-tube and Hoyer lift experience preferred, but training may be available
• Six months of prior hands-on nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Must have reliable transportation
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Dependable and committed to providing consistent patient care
