Custodian JobThe Custodian is responsible for ensuring the common areas and employee spaces remain clean, safe, and well-maintained while supporting our AAA Four-Diamond service standards. They do this by executing a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks and by assisting departments such as housekeeping and maintenance when needed. Full-time or part-time positions available.Duties and ResponsibilitiesGeneral cleaning and maintaining of public areas, restrooms, offices, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areasVacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize surfacesRestock restrooms and cleaning suppliesEnsure doors are locked after hoursClean spills and stains with appropriate equipmentOperate cleaning equipment safely and efficientlyPerform minor repairs when neededPromptly notify supervisors or managers of major repairsCollect and dispose of trash/recycling from all departmentsAssist other departments with projects as neededCollect and disperse packages to appropriate departmentsComplete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervisionWork with a contract cleaning service when necessaryFollow all safety procedures and resort cleanliness standardsAll other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation: High School DiplomaPrevious custodial/janitorial experience is helpful but not required—we are happy to train the right candidateStrong customer/ guest service skills.Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial workMust be a team player but also be able to work independentlyDependable with a positive attitudeAble to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies and equipmentAbility to learn quickly and accurately with attention to detailMust be available to work some weekends and holidaysAbility to be on your feet for up to 8 hours each day—also be able to use stairs, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawlAbility to lift and move up to 50 poundsAbility to exhibit a cheerful and professional demeanor towards guests and other team membersWhy Work at the Osthoff Resort?
