Work Environment

The position is primarily onsite as we visit patients in their homes throughout Miami Gardens, Florida. Our approach is flexible, allowing us to cater to each patient's unique environment, ensuring they receive effective therapy in the comfort of their familiar surroundings. This setting demands not only clinical expertise but also strong interpersonal skills, as you will be establishing a rapport with patients and their families. You will work collaboratively with healthcare providers to ensure that care is consistent and comprehensive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough evaluations of patients, including assessing their medical histories and current physical conditions, to clearly document the need for physical therapy.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with the patient's goals, focusing on therapeutic exercises and activities aimed at improving mobility, strength, and range of motion.
  • Monitor and document patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on individual responses to therapy and changes in their condition.
  • Employ effective manual therapy techniques and guided workouts, setting realistic expectations for physical rehabilitation.
  • Educate patients and families about their conditions and the importance of prescribed exercises and self-care practices to enhance recovery and prevent future injuries.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your client base will include individuals of all ages facing a variety of orthopedic challenges, from post-operative recovery to chronic pain management. You will have the opportunity to work closely with patients who may have limited mobility due to a variety of issues including physical injuries, cognitive impairments, and developmental disabilities. These engagements require a tailored approach to motivate and empower patients as they navigate their rehabilitation journeys.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Florida.
  • Strong competencies in manual therapy techniques and a passion for patient-centered care.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

  • While a minimum of 2 years of experience in physical therapy is required, candidates with 3 or more years of specialized orthopedic experience will be given preference.
  • Hands-on experience in home health care settings is highly advantageous.
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge acquisition in the field of physical therapy.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education.
