Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join a specialized school-based program supporting children and young adults with neurodevelopmental differences. This position focuses on improving students' sensory processing, motor development, emotional regulation, functional independence, and participation in educational activities through individualized, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.

The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with educators, behavioral specialists, speech therapists, psychologists, and families to develop comprehensive treatment plans that promote meaningful engagement and maximize each student's developmental potential.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group occupational therapy services based on each student's therapeutic goals
• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and comprehensive functional assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans addressing sensory integration, fine motor, gross motor, self-care, and functional skills
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve participation and independence
• Develop classroom accommodations, sensory strategies, and environmental modifications
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and educational outcomes
• Educate teachers, staff, and families on therapeutic techniques and home carryover strategies
• Maintain accurate documentation including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and IEP-related documentation
• Monitor treatment outcomes and modify intervention plans as needed
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to individualized educational planning

Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required
• Experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations preferred
• Experience with neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or sensory integration preferred
• Knowledge of sensory processing, emotional regulation, and functional motor development
• Experience in school-based, pediatric, rehabilitation, or developmental settings preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
