Operating Room Technician

An opportunity is available for a skilled Operating Room Technician to join a dynamic surgical team. The role involves assisting in various surgical procedures and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in the operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and healthcare personnel during operations.
• Ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are available and sterile.
• Handle specimens and maintain documentation as required.
• Participate in the orientation of new staff and continuous education opportunities.

Shift Details

This position requires a 12-hour shift, Monday through Friday, with an on-call commitment. Shifts will typically run from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of OR scrub experience required.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
  • DORA CO certification

Operating Room Information

The operating room team works with an average of 8-10 cases per day, encompassing a range of specialties including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Gynecology, Trauma, Total Joint Procedures, ENT, Podiatry, Urology, and Robotics.

Scheduling & Call Requirements

• Weekday shifts: 6:30 AM 7:00 PM, Monday through Wednesday.
• Call requirements: 5-6 times in a 6-week period.
• Weekend work: 36 hours required in a 6-week period.
• Holiday call: Availability for 1 holiday required.
• Response time for call: 30 minutes.

Dress Code

Scrubs are provided on site.

Orientation

New employees will undergo an orientation program during their first week, which includes both in-person and remote modules. Attendance is mandatory for the entire orientation week.
