Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 36 months of emergency medicine experience required Experience caring for pediatrics and adults required Experience with behavioral health patients highly preferred Experience with drips including sedation and vasoactive required Experience reading, measuring, and interpreting tele strips required Level II trauma experience required Level I trauma experience preferred License: Active Iowa or compact multistate nursing license required Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support required ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course required Must-Have: Active employment history with 36 months of current Emergency Department or Emergency Room experience required Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department or Emergency Room required Professional reference or reference check from a supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the last 24 months preferred Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves patient care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. You will provide care for behavioral health, pediatric, and adult patients. You will be required to effectively manage drips, including sedation and vasoactive medications. Experience in reading and interpreting tele strips is essential. The nurse will participate in holiday rotations and work every fourth weekend. Candidates must complete specific competencies and documentation related to their experience. Professional knowledge and skills in emergency nursing are essential for this role.
