Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative is primarily responsible for serving the needs of current customers through a customer centric, needs based approach. In order to accomplish this, the Customer Service Representative cultivates strong relationships, seeking to know customers personally and understand their current needs, as well as future needs. The successful Customer Service Representative builds strong rapport with customers through a conversation based on the customer's needs and goals, processes customer transactions in a timely and accurate manner, and seeks opportunities to strengthen the customer relationship by serving unmet needs. The Customer Service Representative follows legal, ethical, and State Farm guidelines to educate prospects and customers about insurance and financial services offerings, make recommendations in the customer's best interests, complete applications accurately, and empower customers to make informed decisions about their insurance and financial services needs. This position requires licensing in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Those who are not currently licensed are eligible for paid training and testing to obtain a license.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receives and processes payments
• Processes policy transactions and applications as necessary.
• Answers customer questions regarding policies and accounts.
• Documents customer interactions and transactions according to company guidelines
• Uses online resources and business partners as necessary.
• Facilitates communications with State Farm Claims as necessary.
• Identifies and suggests additional products and services as may be appropriate for the customer's needs.
• Refers customers for financial services and investment planning as necessary.
• Calls existing customers to offer additional products and services which may be appropriate.
• Calls existing customers to schedule appointments for account reviews as appropriate.
• Develops leads through personal networking, community events and the use of warm leads as they may be available.
• Asks clarifying and qualifying questions to identify unmet needs, wants, and dreams.
• Helps prospects and customers to understand potential threats.
• Educates prospects and customer on features and benefits of insurance and financial services products.
• Builds customized insurance and financial services packages to meet customer's needs.
• Documents interactions and sales appropriately, based on office standards.
• Maintains an awareness of insurance and financial services markets and competitor offerings.
• Completes licensing, continuing educations, certifications and compliance learnings as required.
• Refers financial services needs to Account Manager – Sales or Financial Services Representative as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a State Farm Agent Team Member
• Licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, and Health Insurance in their resident state, as well as states as required by business needs.
• Proven track record of Life and Health sales.
• Ability to solve problems using provided resources.
• Comfortable speaking with customers, whether over the phone or in person.
• Persuasive reasoning and listening skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in Customer Service or Sales
• Background in the insurance industry
• Experience delivering customer-focused solutions and in creating long-lasting relationships.
• Persistent nature with a goal-oriented mind.

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
