Job Summary All staff, faculty, and temporary employees who meet the minimum qualifications may apply directly through the internal application system. This position is a full‑time, staff role located in the Department of Surgery at the University of Miami. Core Responsibilities Serve as liaison between the surgical scheduling team, hospital, nursing care teams, and department leadership. Provide non‑medical administrative support to patients and families. Oversee daily clerical and surgical functions and manage all programs and events planned by the division. Support executive, surgical, and administrative leadership. Participate in problem‑solving and feedback, using established communication channels. Manage the flow of surgical cases for the assigned service line and clinical programs. Monitor, evaluate, and implement continuous improvement efforts related to surgical scheduling productivity in partnership with leadership. Liaise between patients, department leadership, and hospital staff to improve processes and ensure operational continuity. Work closely with department leadership to ensure adherence to optimal practices and policies during scheduling. Assist with talent recruitment and training of scheduling staff. Serve as a reference and support to scheduling staff for the assigned service line. Maintain productive relationships across specialties to facilitate multidisciplinary surgical care. Monitor service delivery in collaboration with hospital clinical departments, physicians, and ambulatory clinics. Adhere to University and unit‑level policies, procedures, and asset safeguards. Core Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Capacity to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Commitment to the University’s core values.
