Alaska VA Healthcare System Anchorage VA Medical Center is an urgent care center and medical clinic located at 1201 N Muldoon Rd in Anchorage, AK. While Anchorage VAMC is a walk-in clinic that is open late and after hours, patients can also conveniently book online for an appointment.

Medical Assistant - Responsibilities (listed are included but not limited to)

• The Medical Assistant maintains and monitors patient appointment schedules for the facility.
• The Medical Support Assistant communicates delays in scheduled appointments to the appropriate staff and patients.
• Re-schedules, cancels, processes no-shows and recall reminders.
• Types administrative notes using various automation systems and programs to accomplish work, such as text editing, maintain and retrieval use of messaging by using e-mail.
• Enters and/or retrieves information and data from the Clinical Information System. Completes consult requests through the advice of the physician with the use of Computerized Patient Record System.
• Refers eligibility enrollment and means test when necessary to the appropriate area.
• Ensures that patients are scheduled per provider's orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

Medical Support Assistant - Requirements

• Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Certification/Licensure: Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
