Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients encompassing pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups using standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
• Design individualized therapy plans that target immediate communication needs and outline long-term goals for cognitive, communicative, or swallowing improvement.
• Administer dedicated speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language development, fluency, vocal skills, and swallowing abilities.
• Work in a collaborative environment with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to establish effective care plans.
• Educate patients and their families to encourage ongoing progress outside of clinical settings.
• Occasionally manage inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care continuity.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation that meets all pertinent regulatory and organizational standards.
• Engage in professional development through ongoing education and peer collaboration, staying abreast of the latest practices in the field.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist is required.
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
