RUBY SHAW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL POSITION SUMMARY Provide support for the overall school educational and cultural environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for lower level discipline referrals Monitor attendance and/or interventions for under‑performing students Process documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties Communicate and coordinate with families of students Maintain respect at all times for confidential information REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing Effective, active listening skills Interpersonal, Restorative Practice background preferred Ability to work effectively with others Organizational and problem‑solving skills Excellent public relations skills OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents Make contact with the public with tact and diplomacy Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner Maintain a level of approachability by administration and staff QUALIFICATIONS Must hold an active Connecticut Department of Education Certification 092 Certification preferred, but not required Middle or high school teaching experience Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Norwalk Board of Education may find appropriate Days: Monday – Friday Year: School Year Salary: In accordance with the NASA contract.
