Location: Oak Ridge, TN Job Title: Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist Assistant Career Level From: Senior Associate Career Level To: Specialist Job Specialty: Wellness What You'll Do Maintain appropriate licensure to assist the Physical Therapist with providing qualified physical therapy services to patients evaluated by the Physical Therapist. Work as part of a team to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of the Site Occupational Medical Director (SOMD) and Physical Therapist. Implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort. Be responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of three onsite fitness centers (LIFE Centers) and the physical therapy clinic. Serve as a resource to employees on physical fitness, injury prevention, and well-being. Maintain accurate records of each participant in the LiveWise (Wellness) program. Ensure all applicable forms (consent forms, health forms, exercise prescriptions, etc.) are accessible by assigned wellness team members. Properly safeguard any Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”). This safeguarding will encompass all documentation to include Health Risk Assessments, physical therapy documentation, nutrition and wellness consultation, and daily e-mail correspondence in compliance with HIPAA laws and Y-12 regulations. Demonstrate an ability to communicate (both written and orally) and work with people of various demographics within the Y-12 employee population in a professional and courteous manner. Support wellness programming as directed by the Supervisor, Health and Wellness, to include group exercise instruction, delivery of lunch and learn educational sessions, and participation in on and offsite wellness events. Coordinate operations at the assigned wellness facility and assist employees with their wellness program/exercise prescription on an as needed basis. Track and report all applicable metrics for wellness encounters, physical therapy services, and facility usage to the Supervisor, Health and Wellness. ATC must maintain appropriate continuing education to keep certification/licensure current and must be certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), maintaining certification throughout their employment. Minimum of two (2) years relevant professional experience required, with experience in the corporate wellness environment preferred. OR Associate of Science degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program and passing score on the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE-PTA), as well as state licensure with the Tennessee Board of Physical Therapy. PTA must maintain licensure and must be certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, maintaining certification throughout their employment. Minimum of six (6) years relevant professional experience required, with experience in the corporate wellness environment preferred. Requires a DOE "L" or "Q" Clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required. Preferred Job Requirements Experience in leading group exercise classes and coordinating group fitness programs, as well as providing exercise prescription and general health and wellness counseling.
