HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician

In this role, you'll work with modern, computer-controlled Building Automation Systems (BAS) to support large campus HVAC systems - adjusting temperature settings and schedules, calibrating DDC components, and troubleshooting and repairing controls. You'll also take part in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment. If you're ready to bring your skills to a supportive team where your work truly makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you - apply today!About this roleAssess problems and repair general HVAC workWork with computer-controlled BAS that controls large campus cooling systemsPerform maintenance and repairs on HVAC mechanical and electrical componentsAdjust temperature setpoints, and operation times, calibrate DDC components, and troubleshoot and repair controls and communication problems through BAS softwarePerform inspections of contracted work for installations, repairs, service, and maintenance of complex equipment and control systems in county-owned and managed facilitiesInitiate materials lists, soliciting cost estimates, and oversee delivery of parts and materials to job sitesCoordinate project schedules with building occupants and contractors, and the maintenance of records and warranty informationEnter work order information in the computerized Maintenance/Work Order Program and complete paperworkWork Hours:Monday - Friday7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.Participates in on-call rotation for any emergencies (with emergencies typically only occurring 2-3 times per year)Provided with this position: Tools, full uniform, steel-toed shoes, all necessary safety equipment (PPE), County-issued phone, County-issued vehicle, and a laptop while at workMinimum Qualifications:Skilled Trades Worker II: Starting Pay: $22.14 (Step 1) Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.High School Diploma or its equivalentThree (3) years of experience in HVAC tradeValid Florida Driver's License at the time of hireSkilled Trades Worker III: Starting Pay: $24.42 (Step 1) Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.High School Diploma or its equivalentSix (6) years of experience in HVAC tradeValid Florida Driver's License at the time of hirePreferred Qualifications:Experience working with, programming, and troubleshooting Building Automated Systems with Metasys & Tracer SummitUniversal Certification EPA cardPhysical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsCJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring processSubject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.
