Position: Respiratory Therapist

Shift:

Nights - 12-hour shifts

Job Description:

This position requires working every other weekend and being on call, with an average of three calls per schedule, which may vary based on departmental needs.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient outcomes and make necessary changes in the plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide explanations and instructions to patients and/or responsible persons, ensuring understanding of respiratory disease processes and intervention procedures.
• Accept reassignment to other units as necessary for optimal patient care.
• Share clinical knowledge with staff and students, serving as a role model for professional clinical practice.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care.
• Administer respiratory care as prescribed by the physician while maintaining clear communication with medical and nursing staff.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate's degree in a relevant field is required.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Current Illinois State License.
• BLS Certification.
• NRP-MHC Certification.
