Hiring School Paraprofessional – 2026–2027 School Year
Location: Flint, MI
Full-Time Contract Position
Bilingual Therapies is seeking flexible and compassionate Paraprofessionals for contract opportunities serving students throughout Flint, Michigan. Paraprofessionals may be placed in 1:1 support roles or classroom-based positions across a variety of special education and general education settings. Assignments may include supporting students with severe, cognitive, emotional, or other learning needs. Candidates must be flexible regarding placement, though the district may consider individual preferences when making assignments.

- Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: June 11, 2027
- Position Type: Full-Time Contract
- Potential Schedule: 7:15 AM – 3:15 PM or 8:15 AM – 4:15 PM, depending on assigned building
- Potential Placements: 1:1 and classroom-based support
- Grade Levels: All Grade Levels
- Candidates must be flexible regarding caseload and placement type; district may consider candidate preferences
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to students in general education and special education settings
- Support students in severe, resource, self-contained, cognitively impaired, and emotionally impaired programs
- Assist students in mild-moderate general education classrooms
- Provide academic, behavioral, and daily support based on individual student needs
- Assist students with daily care needs, including diapering and toileting, when required
- Support students throughout the school day in a manner similar to a health aide professional
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote student success and safety
- Maintain a flexible and supportive approach across different classroom and student settings
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- For paraprofessionals working in programs supported with Title I funds, candidates must meet one of the following education requirements:
- At least 60 semester hours of college credit with an official transcript
- An associate degree or higher
- A passing score of at least 460 on the ETS ParaPro Assessment
- SAT scores of at least 480 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 530 in Math
- Previous school-based or paraprofessional experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students across all grade levels
- Willingness to provide personal care support, including diapering and toileting, when required
- Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and school staff
- Ability to work onsite and maintain consistent weekly hours throughout the assignment
