Description Bering Straits Global Innovations, LLC (BSGI) was developed to provide general construction services to a variety of commercial and government agencies and to take advantage of Bering Straits Native Corporation and its companies’ previous experience in commercial and institutional building construction, alarm system monitoring service, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and other related services. About this position: Construction Superintendent Location – Hanover, MD The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Wage/Salary Range: $120K - $150k Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal. Field Leadership Direct daily field operations on multiple federal construction projects simultaneously. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedule and productivity. Plan work activities to maximize efficiency while minimizing disruption to occupied government facilities. Conduct daily site meetings and communicate project expectations to all trades. Maintain a professional and productive jobsite culture. Project Execution Manage project schedules and coordinate sequencing of multiple construction trades. Monitor progress and proactively identify potential schedule impacts before they become problems. Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents with subcontractors. Coordinate material deliveries and equipment to support efficient project execution. Support successful project turnover and closeout activities. Quality Control Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, UFC requirements, and contract documents. Identify construction deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions. Support submittal implementation, inspections, testing, punch list completion, and project closeout. Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and field records. Safety Leadership Promote a proactive safety culture across every project. Ensure subcontractors comply with OSHA requirements and project-specific safety plans. Conduct routine safety inspections and immediately address unsafe conditions. Lead by example through consistent safe work practices and accountability. Client Relationships Serve as a trusted field representative for BSNC. Build positive working relationships with Owners, Contracting Officers, CORs, Quality Assurance personnel, subcontractors, and project stakeholders. Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions professionally and proactively. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED minimum. Level of Experience Requirements: Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or federal construction projects. Required qualifications for hire: Experience managing federal construction projects for agencies such as USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, GSA, or similar federal customers. Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades. Experience managing projects exceeding $500,000, including secure facility construction and interior renovations. Strong understanding of commercial building systems including architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. OSHA 30 Certification. Valid Driver's License. S. Citizenship. Fluent in English; speaking, reading and writing. Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal and military installations. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Proficient in Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software Take ownership of every project as if it were their own. Anticipate problems before they impact schedule or budget. Hold subcontractors accountable while maintaining strong working relationships. Communicate openly and professionally with the project teams. Value quality craftsmanship and refuse to accept mediocre work. Thrive in fast-paced federal construction environments. Actively seek outgrowth and leadership opportunities. Preferred USACE QCM Certification OSHA Training Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one Experience working within an SBA 8(a) federal contracting environment. Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Experience managing occupied renovations and secure government facilities. Working knowledge of government systems: RMS, WebCM, Kahua, etc. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will not have supervisory responsibilities. The Opportunity As a Construction Superintendent, you will serve as the field leader responsible for safely delivering multiple federal construction projects throughout the Greater Baltimore and DC Metro area. Working closely with Project Managers, Quality Control Managers, subcontractors, and federal clients, you'll coordinate daily construction activities while ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects for agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal customers where attention to detail, quality, and professionalism are essential. Typical Projects: Our Superintendents may support projects including: Secure facility and SCIF construction Interior renovations and tenant improvements Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades Building envelope improvements Fire protection and life safety upgrades Secure entry and specialty door installations Infrastructure improvements Occupied facility renovations Design-build federal construction projects Physical Setting : Work locations will vary depending on project locations, all project operations are based out of our Hanover, MD office. Project sites include locations in the greater Baltimore and DC-Metro areas. Employees are expected to transport themselves to and from project sites, or the main office on a daily basis. Schedule and Flexibility : Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, start times vary depending on the project from roughly 6:00am to 8:00am and typically end between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. Employees are expected to be punctual and willing to work at the project site for the duration of the onsite work hours. Please note availability for overnight work, or work beyond normal working hours.
