Role: Senior Software Engineer (Backend) Location: Remote or On-site (New York City) | Full-time Compensation: $150k - $210k + Equity About the Role This role is an opportunity to join an established engineering team as a senior backend contributor responsible for shaping core technical direction and delivering scalable, production-grade systems. You'll work across backend services, data-processing pipelines, dashboards, and distributed systems-while collaborating closely with mobile engineering teams and contributing to an evolving technology ecosystem. What You Will Do Backend Engineering - Design, build, and deploy backend services and internal systems with an emphasis on reliability and scale. Complex Problem Solving - Work on data aggregation, dashboards, scalable microservices, and backend components supporting ML-driven features. Architecture Contributions - Participate in designing system architecture, improving backend patterns, and setting engineering best practices. Cross-Stack Collaboration - Work with mobile engineering teams to ensure backend systems align with product needs and industry standards. Technical Execution - Ship high-quality code, own features end-to-end, and support production deployments. What You Will Bring 6+ years of professional software engineering experience , with strong backend specialization. Expertise with AWS, TypeScript, Node.js, and React . Proven experience delivering software from initial design through rollout . Background in consumer-facing product development (preferred but not required). Strong understanding of system design, backend patterns, and modern cloud architectures. Passion for technical innovation and building reliable, scalable systems.
