Job Responsibilities Demonstrate safety as a core value by following all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements while supporting a safe work environment. Support material handling activities including staging, feeding, and supplying dunnage, inserts, strapping, tapes, load tags, and banding reels. Assist in building, organizing, and preparing loads for the Load Former and Shinko machine operations. Ensure materials are available at all times to prevent production interruptions, line backups, or machine downtime. Help maintain proper load protection by assisting with placement of top dunnage, bottom inserts, and protective packaging materials. Remove finished materials from the line and assist with stacking, banding, and transporting to designated WIP or storage areas. Inspect materials for obvious defects and alert the Assistant Operator or Operator of any quality concerns. Support WIP organization by helping verify correct placement, labeling, and staging of materials. Assist with clearing minor jams, material misfeeds, and general line support under supervision. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area through continuous housekeeping. Follow production instructions using carts, conveyors, scanners, and other basic plant tools and systems as directed. Communicate shortages, equipment concerns, or workflow issues promptly to the Assistant Operator or Supervisor. Participate in cross-training and assist in other areas of the plant as needed. Follow all company policies, safety rules, and complete required monthly OSHA training. Work collaboratively with the production team to support efficiency, quality, and production goals. Perform all additional duties as assigned to support plant operations. Additional Requirements Must follow detailed instructions related to training, quality, and safety. Physical Requirements Required to stand for long periods and occasionally squat while lifting sheets (up to 30 lbs) for up to 12 hours. Required to bend, lift, and move sheets from platforms or bridges safely. Must have good vision to operate PITs, read labels, and monitor equipment safely. Requires continuous mental and visual attention to maintain production flow and inventory accuracy. Strong desire to learn and excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Prior experience in the corrugated or converting industry preferred. Punctuality and commitment to predictable attendance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Dedication to wearing required safety gear. Availability for overtime as needed. Skills Reading and Communication: Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical: Able to read a tape measure with accuracy, calculate measurements, percentages, and volumes, and apply basic math concepts. Technical: Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities; familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements including OSHA, DEQ, EEO, and company policies.
