As Crusoe scales and takes on increasingly complex financings, partnerships, and international operations, this role is the Company's subject matter expert on how those transactions are accounted for — analyzing new and unique deals for appropriate treatment and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.In this role, you will contribute to the preparation and review of the Company's external quarterly and annual financial statements, author the MD&A, drive the adoption of new accounting standards, and act as a strategic partner to internal business units and the primary liaison for external auditors on complex accounting positions. The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with deep technical expertise, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts for non-financial stakeholders. This is a full-time, exempt position.What You'll Be Working On:Complex Transaction Analysis — Lead the research and evaluation of complex transactions, including debt/equity transactions, consolidation, lease accounting, revenue recognition, and other topics.Technical Documentation & Leadership Communication — Prepare clear, comprehensive technical accounting memoranda documenting the Company's conclusions and compliance under US GAAP, and present the related accounting considerations to leadership.SEC Financial Statements & Footnotes — Prepare and review aspects of the Company's quarterly financial statements and footnotes in compliance with SEC reporting requirements.MD&A Authorship — Author the Management's Discussion and Analysis section to ensure clear, accurate narratives of financial results and trends.Global Accounting Policy — Formulate global accounting policies and assist with the implementation of those policies across the organization.New Standards Adoption — Monitor, analyze, and interpret new accounting pronouncements from the FASB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies to assess their impact on financial reporting, and drive the planning and implementation of new standards.External Audit Partnership — Coordinate and engage with external auditors on the review of technical accounting positions, consolidated financial statements, and new accounting standards.Internal Control Environment — Support the maintenance of a strong internal control environment (SOX compliance) over technical accounting and financial reporting processes.What You'll Bring to the Team:Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.Six or more years of total accounting and audit experience.Deep technical accounting expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting regulations, and SOX internal control frameworks.Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Strong critical and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop and implement practical solutions.Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.Bonus Points:Experience at a large public accounting firm (National Office or technical accounting group) or with a large corporate filer.Direct experience drafting MD&A or other SEC narrative disclosures.Experience leading the implementation of a major new accounting standard (e.g., ASC 842, ASC 606).Familiarity with accounting for project finance, joint ventures, or other capital-intensive structures.Industry experience in energy, infrastructure, or data centers.Benefits:Competitive compensation and equity packagesRestricted Stock UnitsPaid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programsComprehensive health, dental & vision insuranceEmployer contributions to HSA accountPaid parental leavePaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disabilityProfessional development & tuition reimbursementMental health & wellness supportCommuter benefits (parking & transit)Cell phone stipend401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salaryVolunteer time offGlobal travel insurance & emergency assistanceDaily meals allowanceAdditional perks & programs specific to locationCompensation:Compensation will be paid in the range of $115,000 - $140,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.
