Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Client Sessions: Conducting initial assessments to understand client backgrounds, challenges, and treatment goals through video or phone sessions.

• Therapeutic Interventions: Leading engaging, evidence-based therapy sessions tailored to individual client needs, addressing issues such as relationship conflicts, emotional distress, and family dynamics.

• Treatment Planning: Developing, implementing, and regularly reviewing personalized treatment plans to track client progress and adapt strategies as necessary.

• Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed, confidential, and accurate client records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting therapy progress and treatment adjustments.

The Comfort Place serves a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, and families dealing with varying mental health concerns. Our clients may present with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and family conflict. This role requires sensitivity, empathy, and skill in navigating complex emotional landscapes.

Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.

• An active and valid LMFT license issued by the state of Maryland.

• A strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and systemic therapy.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from various backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of experience as an LMFT is required, additional experience working with specific populations (such as children, LGBTQ+, or trauma survivors) is highly beneficial. Experience in using teletherapy platforms is also advantageous as we move towards more remote-based practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n
