Opportunity Overview

Our organization is on the lookout for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatal Hospitalist to become part of a leading, integrated neonatology program located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our diverse team consists of neonatologists, neonatal hospitalists, and advanced practice clinicians who collaborate across various locations.

This role offers the chance to work in a community-focused environment, backed by the resources, stability, and support of a large, physician-led multispecialty organization, all while providing exceptional, patient-centered neonatal care.

Practice Details

As a member of our integrated program, physicians will deliver care at two clinical locations, each with its unique practice scope within a collaborative framework:

California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco, CA)

This regional referral center features a 35-bed Level III NICU and provides access to advanced subspecialty services.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Providing neonatal inpatient care, including attending high-risk deliveries
• Night coverage supported by an in-house neonatal hospitalist team
• Managing an active well-baby service
• Participating in neonatal transport and coordinating high-risk perinatal care
• Collaborating with pediatric subspecialists through programs such as the Small Baby Unit, neurocritical care, and neonatal surgery (in partnership with Stanford Children's Health)

Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame, CA)

This community hospital handles approximately 1,500 deliveries annually and is supported by dedicated neonatal hospitalists providing 24/7 coverage.

Clinical responsibilities include:

• In-house neonatal care, covering newborn and special care nursery services
• Management of a Level II Special Care Nursery (6 beds) with advanced monitoring capabilities
• Caring for infants with respiratory distress, jaundice, feeding difficulties, and premature infants (≥34 weeks gestation)
• Active well-baby service and delivery room coverage
• Coordinating with neonatology, transport teams, and pediatric subspecialists
• Focusing on family-centered care, including parent education and support

Collaborative Approach

Our neonatal hospitalists collaborate closely with neonatologists, obstetricians, and labor and delivery teams at both locations to ensure smooth transitions of care and high-quality outcomes. This integrated model fosters continuity, clinical diversity, and a strong team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics or Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
• Active California medical license (or eligibility) by the start date
