Respiratory Therapist

Role Description This is a part‑time, on‑site Respiratory Therapist role based in Zion, IL. The Respiratory Therapist will assess, plan, and deliver respiratory care to residents in a skilled nursing setting, including administering treatments, therapies, and oxygen as prescribed. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include monitoring patients’ cardiopulmonary status, performing respiratory assessments, managing ventilator and non‑invasive support, and documenting care in accordance with facility and regulatory standards. The role also involves collaborating with nursing and medical staff on care plans, educating patients, families, and staff on respiratory care techniques, and ensuring proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment. The Respiratory Therapist will follow infection control and safety protocols and contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to respiratory care. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge and hands‑on skills in Respiratory Care and Respiratory Therapy , including assessment, treatment, and patient education. Experience with Cardiopulmonary assessment and monitoring, including recognition of changes in respiratory and cardiac status. Understanding of relevant Medicine principles as they apply to respiratory conditions, treatments, and interdisciplinary care. Exposure to or experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or other high‑acuity settings is beneficial but not required. Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) in Illinois, in good standing. Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Current BLS certification; ACLS and/or PALS preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing environment. Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient positioning and equipment handling for extended periods, following safe patient‑handling practices. #J-18808-Ljbffr
