Credentialing Specialist - Part Time

Part-Time Credentialing SpecialistChoctaw Advantage Solutions (CAS) is seeking a Part-Time Credentialing Specialist to support the Department of the Air Force Family Advocacy Program (FAP).The Credentialing Specialist will coordinate provider credentialing and privileging activities for healthcare and ancillary professionals supporting the FAP. This position is responsible for ensuring provider credentials and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, current, and compliant with applicable regulatory, contractual, and Department of Defense requirements.The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in healthcare credentialing, with hands-on experience using MD-Staff or similar credentialing software.What You'll DoManage full-cycle credentialing and re-credentialing activities for clinical and ancillary providers, including primary source verification of licensure, education, training, certifications, and employment history.Collect, review, and maintain required credentialing documentation and provider files.Upload and maintain credentialing documentation in the MD-Staff-approved credentialing software system.Conduct primary source verifications and required screenings, including National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) queries, sanctions checks, background checks, and other required verifications.Prepare and submit credentialing packets to military treatment facilities and applicable governing or oversight organizations.Coordinate provider privileging and appointment processes with military treatment facility personnel and other stakeholders.Track licenses, certifications, and other expirable credentials to ensure timely renewals and continued compliance.Communicate with providers and third-party organizations to obtain missing or incomplete documentation.Conduct periodic audits of credentialing files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Collect, analyze, and report credentialing data and compliance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.Prepare reports related to credentialing status, timelines, and compliance.Identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations as appropriate.Remain current on credentialing requirements, regulations, standards, and best practices.Perform other duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.At least one (1) year of healthcare credentialing experience, preferably in a healthcare or government contracting environment.Experience processing credentialing applications, primary source verifications, and compliance documentation.Experience using MD-Staff software is highly preferred.Knowledge of credentialing processes, primary source verification, and regulatory compliance.Familiarity with healthcare accreditation standards and credentialing best practices.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven workflows.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and credentialing and/or database systems.Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience with DoD, DoW, or DHA credentialing requirements and systems.Experience supporting credentialing activities at a military treatment facility.Credentialing certification such as Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS).Familiarity with NCQA and/or Joint Commission standards.Experience with additional credentialing software platforms.What You'll BringAttention to Detail: You understand that accuracy is critical when managing provider credentials and compliance documentation.Organization: You can effectively manage multiple providers, requirements, deadlines, and expiring credentials.Compliance Mindset: You understand the importance of maintaining complete, accurate, and audit-ready records.Communication: You communicate professionally and effectively with providers, government personnel, internal stakeholders, and external organizations.Accountability: You take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments.Time Management: You can prioritize competing deadlines in a high-volume environment.Problem Solving: You can identify missing information, resolve issues, and keep credentialing activities moving.Confidentiality: You understand the importance of protecting sensitive provider and healthcare information.Position DetailsCompany: Choctaw Advantage Solutions (CAS)Position: Credentialing SpecialistEmployment Type: Part-Time Contract Position - 15 to 25 hours per week, not to exceed 30 hours per weekProgram: Department of the Air Force Family Advocacy Program (FAP)Why Join CAS?At Choctaw Advantage Solutions, our team supports programs that make a meaningful difference for Service Members and their families.
